 The parks and recreation department oversees the beautiful City Park and Kyle Park as well as a total of eight other parks found throughout the neighborhoods. Facilities include tennis and basketball courts, ball fields, swimming pools, playground equipment, and shelter houses for picnicking. Other ventures might include the Tipp City Nature Center, a golf driving range, the Tipp City Bike Trail foreseen to be finished in 2007-2008, among other recreational opportunities in and around the surrounding Miami County communities. Every year Tipp City celebrates one of the oldest festivals, the Tipp City Mum Festival which dates back to the mid 1900’s when fields of mums lined the towns edge. Today, the festivities are kicked off with a parade and events held over the weekends during the months of August and September. Other annual events include July 4th fireworks, a Halloween parade, the Winter Gathering with free carriage rides, live reindeer, and a visit from the one and only Santa Claus, and the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree.
